The Harris Tweed® Processional Great Coat is Stacy Stewart Smith’s interpretation of that tradition: a full-length overcoat in hand-loomed 100% black Harris Tweed®, imported directly from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland — guaranteed origin, guaranteed quality, no imitations. Combined with a detachable black-dyed Finnish raccoon collar (Canadian-sourced), this coat is built for the man who understands that outerwear is not a utility purchase. It is a statement of who you are before you open your mouth.
Harris Tweed® is one of the few fabrics in the world protected by an Act of Parliament. It is hand-loomed by islanders in their own homes using Scottish wool, and it is naturally water-repellent — the tight weave sheds light rain without treatment. It is also wind-resistant, breathable, and extraordinarily durable. A Harris Tweed® coat does not wear out. It wears in.
The coat is engineered in two distinct zones. The top portion is insulated with polyester neoprene and features a flange-back shoulder with both box and kissing pleats at the center back — stabilized for warmth and structure. The lower portion is entirely free-flowing, with pleats that open to a 93” sweep circumference as you move. The coat lives up to its title: it processes. A leather button front, leather button cuffs, and a belted waist (wearable front or back) complete the silhouette. Double pockets provide four points of access at the front for hand warming and storage. Two welted breast pockets sit inside the full satin lining.
The raccoon fur collar is detachable via hook-and-eye fasteners, revealing a shawl collar beneath. Worn up or down, attached or removed, the collar blocks wind from either direction. This is not a coat that requires a particular occasion. It requires only the willingness to be seen.

100% hand-loomed Harris Tweed® (Outer Hebrides, Scotland). Naturally water-repellent and wind-resistant. Black-dyed Finnish raccoon collar, detachable via hook-and-eye (Canadian-sourced). Polyester neoprene insulation (upper body). Flange-back shoulder. Box and kissing pleats at center back. Leather buttons, leather cuffs, belted waist (front or back). Full satin lining. Provenance & Delivery
Made to order in New York City. Shipped in a gift box with garment bag, extra buttons, and a wooden hanger. The Stacy Couture label is placed on both the collar and the coat lining. Due to the bespoke nature of this garment, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Preorders are not refundable. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth or consult a dry cleaner who specializes in luxury apparel. Do not press with steam on the face of the fabric. Use a garment steamer to remove slight wrinkles and a soft garment brush to lift lint and residue. The raccoon fur collar is detachable and requires the care of a fur professional annually.
