In 1890s Montmartre, the artists who changed the world wore what they wanted — and what they wanted was dramatic, layered, and entirely their own. Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, the Japonisme movement that swept Paris and rewired Western aesthetics — all of it lived on that hill. The Montmartre is a coat for the man who carries that same energy into the present: young, fashionable, aesthetically fluent, and entirely uninterested in dressing like everyone else.
Cut in black Persian lamb (74% acetate, 14% polyester, 12% cotton), long, sleek, shoulder-padded, and waist-accentuating, the coat's silhouette draws from the captain's great coat of La Belle Époque — but its details belong to someone who studied the Japonisme prints at the Musée d'Orsay and then went to a gallery opening in Chelsea the same evening. A woodgrain texture is also available in Onyx for those who prefer a more architectural surface.
The coat is insulated and lined with twill-textured polyester neoprene — warm enough to wear over just a shirt, roomy enough to layer over a sweater (55" CB length). The neoprene also lends a layer of water resistance to the silhouette. The front closes with three couture hand-molded frog closures, each held in place by a pair of 80-line polished horn buttons tied with leather string — a closure that takes its time and rewards the eye of anyone paying attention. Double front pockets and zip-secured vertical breast pockets with metal chain pulls keep essentials accessible without searching. Bouillon fringe trim flanks and stabilizes the lining hem — the detail that announces itself quietly and stays in the memory of everyone who sees it.
The detachable Tigrado shearling collar — sourced from Spain, naturally wavy and curly, marbled in appearance, irresistibly soft — sits over a standing robe collar and converts to a full collar-up wind block. Remove it entirely to reveal the standing collar beneath. Natural color variations in the shearling are an inherent and celebrated feature of this fine breed. This is not a coat for the man who wants to blend in. It is a coat for the man who has never tried to.

Provenance & Delivery
Made to order in New York City. Shipped in a gift box with garment bag, extra buttons, and a wooden hanger. The Stacy Couture label is placed on both the collar and the coat lining. Due to the bespoke nature of this garment, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Preorders are not refundable. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth or consult a dry cleaner who specializes in pile fabrications. Do not press with steam on the face of the fabric. Use a garment steamer to remove slight wrinkles and a soft garment brush to lift lint and residue. The Tigrado shearling collar is detachable and requires the care of a fur professional annually.
