Description
The Flat Front Knit Relax Shorts bring the trouser silhouette into warm-weather or loungewear dressing — magnificently elegant, tailored, and built for ease. Cut from a stretch knit of 62% Rayon, 32% Nylon, 6% Spandex, with a full matching polyester satin lining (customizable), they dress up beautifully or look casual with equal authority. Comfortable, slenderizing, and durable — the rare shorts that belong at a garden party and a yacht deck with equal conviction. Available in Lagoon, Onyx, and Flint.
Pairs with the Rhombus Shower Poolside Shirt-Jacket and the Rhombus Labyrinth Knit Top for a complete Spring/Summer or loungewear ensemble.
Construction & Materials
62% Rayon, 32% Nylon, 6% Spandex stretch knit. Full matching polyester satin lining (customizable). Flat front. Cut full and not close-fitting. The mannequin shown stands 6'3" and is wearing a size 34 waist with an 18.5" outseam.

For a size beyond X-Large or a custom fit, select Preorder from the size menu. The outseam shown is a finished shorts length by size band, not a required customer measurement.

Custom Size Preorder
Select Preorder from the size menu (the option without a listed size). Production is 15 to 30 days from receipt and payment clearance. A couture toile is draped from your measurements while materials are prepared. To begin your custom preorder, complete the Couture Client Measurement Form. The form requires registration, payment, and download, and serves as your client intake agreement. The $5.00 fee is non-refundable. Complete every field and return the completed form to couture@stacystewartsmith.com with your order number before production begins.

Provenance & Delivery
Made to order in New York City. Shipped with a garment bag, extra buttons, and a wooden hanger. Hang vertically using the hang straps — do not fold over a rod. Due to the bespoke nature of this garment, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Preorders are not refundable. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
Care
Hand wash or spot clean with a damp cloth. For best results, professional dry cleaning by a luxury garment specialist is advised. Do not press on the face side. Press lightly from the reverse using a pressing cloth and low heat, or use a garment steamer on a low setting. Improper pressing may damage the textiles.
Care
Stacy Stewart Smith offers made-to-order garments, fine art, and digital publications — each requiring different care. Please refer to the product description for care and handling instructions specific to your purchase. For garments: dry clean or spot clean unless otherwise noted; do not machine wash. For fine art: keep away from direct sunlight and humidity; handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. For digital products and publications: no physical care required; download and archive your files upon receipt.
Design
Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.
The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
