Description

Develop menswear and womenswear coat technical packages from the actual measurements of your sample garment. One subscription includes both workspaces.

Created by Stacy Stewart Smith, this interactive workspace brings coat specifications, construction details, reference images, grading results, and production notes together for review and communication with your patternmaker or production partner.

V1 introductory subscription: $224.99 every three months.

This subscription covers the Coat Technical Package Calculator, with Menswear and Womenswear profiles available. Other garment-category calculators are sold separately.

WORK, REVIEW, AND RETURN

Enter finished-garment measurements in decimal inches. Review and revise the calculated grading results to suit your project.

Download an editable project file to retain your work and reopen it later. Print or save a PDF as a supporting reading copy. Your downloaded project files are your responsibility to store, secure, and retrieve; separate copies do not automatically synchronize.

PROFESSIONAL REVIEW

The calculator supports technical-package preparation. It does not replace patternmaking, detailed construction drawings, physical sample development, or fit approval. Reference images are supporting material, not a substitute for complete production drawings.

INCLUDED EMAIL SUPPORT

Technical support and instructional guidance are provided by email, with the workspace guide as the first reference. Calculation malfunctions and browser-compatibility failures will be addressed without an additional support charge. Subscription extensions will be granted for time lost to these technical interruptions.

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Project-specific design consultations and Webex video conferences are separate, hourly paid services available through the existing consultation and course offerings. Personal design or production consultation is not included in the calculator subscription.

Care

Stacy Stewart Smith offers made-to-order garments, fine art, and digital publications — each requiring different care. Please refer to the product description for care and handling instructions specific to your purchase. For garments: dry clean or spot clean unless otherwise noted; do not machine wash. For fine art: keep away from direct sunlight and humidity; handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. For digital products and publications: no physical care required; download and archive your files upon receipt.

Design

Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.

The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
