AFRICAN DIASPORA COLLECTIVE

THE COLLECTIVE CONTINUES

This is not a seasonal theme. It is an evolving body of menswear shaped by memory, movement, adaptation, and Black cultural continuity.

Read the Collective Notes

MEMORY AND PASSAGE

The collective acknowledges histories shaped by the Transatlantic Slave Trade without turning suffering into decoration. Its purpose is to honor survival, freedom, self-definition, and the cultural continuities carried forward by people of African descent.

MATERIALS IN DIALOGUE

Kente, Blackwatch Harris Tweed, the kilt, American denim, hand-painted cotton, beadwork, leather, shearling, and fur enter the collection as distinct material languages. Their meeting reflects movement across borders and generations, not the erasure of their origins.

THE HAND AND THE GARMENT

Printing, painting, beading, pleating, tailoring, and careful finishing give each piece its authority. Handwork is treated as knowledge: a record of decisions, skill, time, and the person who made the garment.

A LIVING COLLECTIVE

The African Diaspora Collective exists year-round and continues as new work is developed. It is grounded in Black pride and heritage while welcoming those who approach the collection with respect for its history and purpose.
