Thank you for your interest in our exclusive, one-of-a-kind custom design. Our goal is to serve clients whose requests align with the brand's creative vision. Once you purchase the service, a download link will be emailed to you automatically. After receiving it, download the form, complete the contact information at the top, and provide a few dates and times when we can meet via Webex video conferencing. Also, please follow the measurement instructions to begin your custom-made journey with Stacy Stewart Smith Couture, and email the completed form to us at couture@stacystewartsmith.com.

In the initial video conference, we will discuss your fashion needs and desires. While your inspiration and preferences are warmly welcomed, the creative direction and final design are at the designer's discretion. After this 20- to 30-minute meeting, Stacy Stewart Smith will sketch several ensembles or items, by hand or digitally, for you to choose from. The designs will be emailed to you within 7 to 10 days, and you may then visit stacystewartsmith.com to view the design products through the special product page URLs provided in the email correspondence.

An email will be sent to schedule a follow-up Webex meeting to discuss the design ideas. After the meeting, you have up to two weeks to make decisions and/or request slight changes, and to purchase one or more of the designs at stacystewartsmith.com.

The service fee is non-refundable and covers research on textiles and trims/notions for each fashion art sketch and design. When you decide on a design, the Original Design Service Fee will be deducted from your purchase of the construction of the design(s) that you choose. Please note that the exclusive design service requires full payment of the preorder product(s) before production can begin.

Stacy Stewart Smith offers made-to-order garments, fine art, and digital publications — each requiring different care. Please refer to the product description for care and handling instructions specific to your purchase. For garments: dry clean or spot clean unless otherwise noted; do not machine wash. For fine art: keep away from direct sunlight and humidity; handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. For digital products and publications: no physical care required; download and archive your files upon receipt.

Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.

The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
