Description
The Baron Shower Coat is the runway anchor of the Spring/Summer collection — a reversible statement coat with one side as a water-resistant shower coat in Lagoon Teal Blue polyester satin treated with Scotchgard; the other, a Persimmon silk crêpe de chine day coat. The reversible aspect was a styling discovery, not part of the original design — the Persimmon side is intended to be worn with the cape and sleeve cuffs turned up, exactly as styled in the photographs.
The coat features padded shoulders, a hidden button placket, a deep vented back with contrast silk streamer inset, rhombus-shaped machine embroidery at the neckline, contrast inner stitching, side pockets, and a detachable caplet. Dashing, debonair, and entirely its own category. Coordinates with the Sky & Rhombus Trench-Jack and the Dragon & Rhombus Windsor Pants.
Note: Although the coat photographs as royal blue in natural light, it is in the teal family. The reverse is Persimmon — the color of the fruit.

Water-resistant Lagoon Teal Blue polyester satin (Scotchgard-treated) reversing to Persimmon silk crêpe de chine. Padded shoulders. Hidden button placket. Deep vented back with contrast silk streamer inset. Rhombus-shaped machine embroidery at the neckline. Contrast inner stitching. Side pockets. Detachable caplet. The mannequin shown stands 6'3" and is wearing a men's size Large.

Provenance & Delivery
Made to order in New York City. Shipped in a gift box with a garment bag, extra buttons, and a wooden hanger. Due to the bespoke nature of this garment, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Preorders are not refundable. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth and remove lint with a soft garment brush. If the coat becomes wet, allow it to dry fully before storing. Use a professional luxury dry cleaner. Scotchgard after each cleaning to maintain the water-repellent finish. Do not press on the face side. Store in the garment bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.
The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
