Stacy Stewart Smith Men's Diamond Dodger Tweed Newsie Sling Bag
Description
A nod to the Artful Dodger of Dickens' Oliver Twist — but considerably better dressed, and arriving as a newsie's sling bag. The Diamond Dodger Tweed Newsie Sling Bag is cut in the same two-tone diamond-patterned tweed as the Diamond Dodger suit collection (72% acetate, 15% linen, 13% polyester) in Cement/Onyx, with black neoprene lining, which gives the bag its shape. The bag is adjustable with horn buttons that fasten from the shoulder with a metal silver tone buckle. As a bonus the bag has a real feather clad key holder with a silver tone metal clip.
The bag's contoured silhouette is curved to fit the body when positioned crossbody or on one shoulder. An outer pocket provides easy access for everyday objects, and an inner pocket has a buttoned tweed flap to keep more personal items secure. The bag also has a two-way coil zipper and is large enough for both an umbrella and a tablet.
Pair with the Diamond Dodger Tweed Collection — the blazer, suit, and pants — for a complete coordinated ensemble.

Provenance & Delivery
Made to order in New York City. Shipped in a gift box with a silky dust cover. Due to the bespoke nature of this item, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Preorders are not refundable. Shipping insurance is strongly recommended.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth (preferred) or otherwise professional dry clean with a specialist that cares for luxury accessories. Do not scrub nor rub the textiles vigorously. Do not apply steam heat. The bag has been Scotch-guarded, but do not cause it to become wet from rain or snow, which will ruin the textiles. When not in use, store the bag with its internal stuffing and in the dust bag provided. Keep everything boxed as shipped. Have the bag Scotch-guarded every other year to maintain a water-resistant surface.
Care
Stacy Stewart Smith offers made-to-order garments, fine art, and digital publications — each requiring different care. Please refer to the product description for care and handling instructions specific to your purchase. For garments: dry clean or spot clean unless otherwise noted; do not machine wash. For fine art: keep away from direct sunlight and humidity; handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. For digital products and publications: no physical care required; download and archive your files upon receipt.
Design
Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.
The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
