Description

An enchanted eighteenth-century clock holds a child's spirit captive. A Brooklyn jazz singer accidentally sets it free — and opens a portal that neither of them can close.

In the 1960s, Allison Mugler's son Martin is diagnosed by Chicago-based award-winning clinical psychiatrist Dr. Marak Burad as having Life Trance Dementia Syndrome (LTDS) — a condition that enables his spirit to float undetected from his body and metaphysically visit other people. His Life Trance becomes trapped in an enchanted eighteenth-century anniversary clock, leaving him a child with special needs.

In 2008, after purchasing the timepiece from a unique shop in Brooklyn, aspiring jazz singer and art collector Charly Bergeron inadvertently releases Martin's Life Trance through his DNA. The act opens a time portal and Martin is perceived as a glowing poltergeist. When Martin and Charly finally meet, they discover a common thread that includes superhuman abilities and an inescapable mission.

The Stokerdine Conspiracy takes a visit to 1788 Nouvelle Orleans, where secrets buried beneath the Opale plantation explain Martin's connection to Charly and the origin of their extraordinary gifts. Discover the truth about CADIVA, the Reverend Mother Catherine Anastasia Dumas, Anderson Parham, and Charles Jacques Clayson A.K.A. Ms. Chavette — and how every character connects to the Stokerdine Corporation's conspiracy to control world commerce through race annihilation.

The Stokerdine Conspiracy is the combined edition of Glowing in Darkness Volumes I and II.

For fine art: keep away from direct sunlight and humidity; handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. For digital products and publications: no physical care required; download and archive your files upon receipt.

Design

Every Stacy Stewart Smith piece begins as a drawing and ends as a decision — a deliberate choice of textile, construction method, and proportion made by a single designer with five decades of practice. The same eye that composes a painting composes a coat: line, weight, negative space, and the relationship between form and the body that inhabits it. Garments are produced in New York City, one at a time, to the measurements and preferences of the individual client. No two pieces are identical. No production run exists. This is not manufacturing — it is making.

The atelier sources textiles for their hand, weight, and longevity. Sustainability here is not a campaign. It is the natural consequence of making only what is wanted, from materials chosen to last, by a craftsman who will not put his name on anything less.
